Converting UTF-8 with BOM (Byte Order Marker) to UTF-8

Follow

Problem:
Uploading a loadfile that is encoded in UTF-8 with BOM can cause an error while trying to import. This normally occurs when modifying files in Excel as Microsoft's default for UTF-8 includes BOM and unfortunately there is no option to leave BOM off. NextPoint requires UTF-8.

Solutions:
If the file doesn't include Unicode characters you can save the file as a normal CSV file in excel.
If there are Unicode characters, the easiest course of action is to save the UTF-8 CSV in excel and then opening the file in a text editor (such as notepad++ https://notepad-plus-plus.org)  and change the encoding from UTF-8 BOM to UTF-8.

Note:
We do have a request into our development team to support UTF-8 BOM, but it has not currently been implemented as of yet.
