Nextpoint allows you to import and manage deposition transcripts along with their associated videos (if applicable). Below are step-by-step instructions for importing transcripts, videos, and exhibits, as well as guidance on how to work with them throughout the platform.
Follow this link for detailed instructions on uploading deposition transcripts. In summary, navigate to the TRANSCRIPTS tab and click the "Import Transcripts" button.
If the deposition file is stored on your local device, select "Add File From Computer" to upload the deposition (or a .zip file when uploading multiple depositions). If the file has already been uploaded to your File Room, select "Add File From File Room".
Accepted file types include ASCII, PTF, PTX, PDF, LEF, and CMS.
Navigate to the DEPOSITIONS tab and click on the deposition you uploaded (highlighted in blue).
In the upper-right corner, click Transcript Settings.
In the Video Sync Info section, click Import Syncfile.
Use My Device, Dropbox, or your File Room to locate the sync file (accepted file types include dvt/xml, cms, sbf, vid, or svi), then click Import Syncfile.
To upload a video, click the DEPONENTS tab and select the desired deponent transcript. In the upper-right corner, click Transcript Settings > Edit.
In the Video Info section, click Import Video.
Select My Device, Dropbox, or Add File From File Room (accepted file types include mpg, mpeg, mov, mp4, avi, and wmv), then click "Import Video".
Once the video finishes processing, you will have the option to stitch clips together under Deposition Presentation Video. After completing this process, you will be able to watch video clips alongside the transcript text.
You will also see the Theater icon
next to the transcript under the DEPONENTS or PROCEEDINGS tabs.
- For instructions on designating testimony, follow this link.
From the Designations panel on the right side of the page, choose a Folder or Issue from the dropdown. Select a folder marked with an asterisk (*), which indicates active designations.
Click the play icon beneath the desired video designation to begin playback in the upper-right video window. Use the pencil icon to add notes for the clip, or the trash icon to delete the designation.
- Watch Full Screen Video Clips in Theater — follow this link.
Nextpoint Litigation allows you to link exhibits to transcripts in two ways. You can relate a document to a deposition or proceeding transcript, and once related, create hyperlinks within the transcript.
To begin, first import the transcript via the DEPONENTS or PROCEEDINGS tabs. You can then import and relate exhibits using one of the following methods.
