The Nextpoint Download Manager is an application that simplifies downloading large production exports that have been shared from a Nextpoint database. Rather than downloading dozens or hundreds of individual volume ZIP files one at a time—or relying on your browser to open multiple download tabs—the Download Manager handles the process for you in a single application.
After authenticating your shared export, the Download Manager allows you to:
- Download all production volumes from one interface.
- Resume interrupted downloads without starting over.
- Select only the files you need.

Before You Begin
Before using the Nextpoint Download Manager, make sure that:
- You have received a shared production export email containing an Access Files link.
- You have access to the email account that received the shared export. A verification code will be sent separately during authentication.
- You are using a Windows computer. The Download Manager is provided as a Windows executable (
.exe) application. - You have permission to install or run applications on your computer if required by your organization's security policies.

Step 1: Access the Shared Export
When someone shares a production export with you, you'll receive an email containing a secure link to access the files.
- Open the email containing your shared production.
- Click the Access Files button.
This opens the secure export page where you'll verify your identity before the production files become available.
Step 2: Verify Your Identity
For security purposes, shared exports require verification before they can be downloaded.
- Enter the Security Code.
- Enter your name exactly as it appears on the shared export.
- Enter the email address that received the shared production.
- Click Submit.
Where is the Security Code?
The verification code is sent in a separate email after you click Access Files. Copy the code from that email and paste it into the verification page.
After verification is complete, you'll be taken to the export page where all production volumes are listed.
Downloading Large Productions
For smaller productions, you can download individual ZIP files or use the Download All button. However, very large productions may contain dozens or hundreds of volume files. Opening that many browser tabs can be slow or fail because of browser pop-up restrictions.
For large exports, Nextpoint recommends using the Nextpoint Download Manager.
Step 3: Download the Nextpoint Download Manager
The Download Manager provides a more reliable way to download large productions than using your web browser alone.
- Download the Nextpoint Download Manager.
- Save the application to your computer.
- Run
NextpointExportDownloadManager.exe. - Return to the authenticated export page in your browser.
- Copy the entire URL from your browser's address bar.
- Paste the URL into the Download Manager.
- Click Load Files.
Step 4: Download Production Files
Once the export has been loaded into the Download Manager, all available production volumes are displayed in a single list. By default, every file is selected for download.
- Review the list of available production volumes.
- (Optional) Clear the checkbox next to any files you have already downloaded or do not need.
- Click Select Folder.
- Choose or create a destination folder where the downloaded ZIP files will be saved.
- Click Download Selected.
The Download Manager begins downloading multiple files simultaneously and displays the progress of each file in real time.
Resuming Interrupted Downloads
If your internet connection is interrupted or you close the application before all files finish downloading, simply reopen the Download Manager, reload the export, and continue the download. Files that have already completed do not need to be downloaded again.
Step 5: Extract the Production Volumes
After all downloads have completed, you'll need to extract the ZIP files before importing the production.
Recommended Method
The Nextpoint Download Manager includes a built-in Unzip Files feature that automatically extracts every ZIP file into a single production folder.
- Once all downloads are complete, click Unzip Files.
- Choose the destination folder for the extracted production.
- Allow the Download Manager to extract each production volume.
Like downloading, extraction occurs in parallel and displays progress for each volume until the entire production has been reconstructed.
Extraction Performance
You can increase or decrease the number of simultaneous extraction jobs while the process is running. Higher values may reduce extraction time but require additional memory and processing power.
Do Not Import Individual Volume ZIPs
Each downloaded ZIP file contains only one portion of the production. If you extract each ZIP into its own folder, you'll end up with multiple partial productions.
Instead, extract every production volume into the same destination folder. This combines the IMAGES, NATIVES, TEXT, and DATA folders into one complete production ready for import.
When extraction is complete, your production folder should contain a structure similar to the following:
- DATA
- IMAGES
- NATIVES
- TEXT
Step 6: Import the Production
Once all production volumes have been extracted into a single folder, the production is ready to be imported into Nextpoint or another supported review platform.
- Open the destination review platform.
- Begin a production import.
- Select the folder containing the combined production.
- Verify that the production contains the DATA, IMAGES, NATIVES, and TEXT folders before starting the import.
Tip
Because all production volumes have been combined into one folder, the production only needs to be imported once. There is no need to import each volume separately.
